1. The Axis controlled considerable territory until close to the very end.
2. It seems like, at times, long fronts were basically static. For example, like Feb-July of 1942 it looks as if nothing happened in Russia, yet between Jan 42 and March 43, well over 2 million Soviets were lost in the Rzhev salient. The map merely shows the Germans retiring from it, in Operation Buffalo.
Its interesting to see how long the Russians were held in the same part of the line in 1944.
3. Hard to even SEE the Battle of the Bulge.
